Has any one listened to comparable speakers from each brand? I'm interested in the Tyler Acoustic Taylo ref monitor and the Selah Audio Tanzanite. The Tylers are slightly more expensive than the Selahs and I was wondering if their was any reason for that considering the fact that the Tyler is a standard 2-way monitor while the Selah is a 3-way monitor.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

That's easy, Selah.  The Tyler's are more expensive but the Selahs have a better crossover.

Vote for Selah Audio.

What type of speaker are you looking for?  (Floorstander, Monitor, Line Array?)

Just saw Rick has these up for sale - $1300

Can't comment on the Selahs but I can tell you I love my Taylos. They are an excellent sounding speaker.  Mine are used in the HT for LCR duties and music.

heavystarch, I'm looking at monitors. I'm just looking at the moment, but they would eventually be driven by a Jungson JA-88D amp; it's 80 watts of pure class A.

Phish,

I just received some Tanzanites tonight, so I don't have much time on them, and I've never heard a Tyler.

I can tell you that the woodwork is very nice and the sound is pretty good as well.

The cabinets are VERY well constructed.  For their size, the cabinets feel HEAVY.

I'm about 3 hours from Columbus, in Fort Wayne, IN.  If you want to listen to the Tanzanites, give me a PM and we can work out the details.
