BP-16 pre

Dear James,

Does the new BP-16 provide balanced output's? For me the BP-16 seems like a better choice over the BP-26 for a couple of reassons. This because of the "pass through" and the lack of a balance potention meter in the circuit (because the BP-16 has this built it in in the chip). I also like the ability to switch the pre-amp on and off with the remote, So you can turn the whole Bryston system on/off with the remote.

pleasse tell me it has balanced outputs, or at least it is a option. If not I gonna built it in myself with Jensen transformers our a copy of Bryston's DOA discrete opamps as phase inverter :D :D

Kind regards,
Bas

Hi Bas,

Sorry the BP16 does not have balanced inputs or outputs only single-ended.

Dear James,

Thank for you're quick reply. To bad for me :( I was really thrilled about the new BP-16. Is a balanced output not posible as a custom made option.. ? My Bryston 7BSST's sounded really better with balanced input.;

I really like the idea of the BP-16 with his software volume and balance adjustment. I prefer this above a mechanical potentionmeter. Especialy a balance knob is a thing I want to avoid. I know you may not comment on future product, but at least I can try... :D Can we expect a future per-amp with balanced out and software control? (like a BP-27 or something?) It would be really cool if this (future) pre-amp have a (small) LCD display like the SP1.7. This is usefull to read out for example the volume level in dB. scale from a distance. It also make it easy to make gain adjustment per input. If such a Bryston pre-amp ever gonna come, I buy it blind no matter what it cost :D

Best regards and a nice weekend (for whats left of it) ;)

Hi Bas,

No plans on a new software driven Stereo preamp at this point but maybe it is something we will look at.
