I recommend the Mozart: Piano Sonatas K 310, 311, 533/494; Fantasy K.397.  I have a fairly recent recording (there are many!) by Alfred Brendel which are very well played (understatement here) and the sound on the CD is quite good.  You can listen to some excerpts on the Amazon site to see if this is your cup of tea.  <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000089CDZ/ref=pd_lpo_k2a_3_img_T2/104-0037450-2498356?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance>

Kleiber's recording of the Beethoven symphonies is a real classic, especially the 5th.  I don't think anyone has ever done it better.

Uchida did a good job of the Mozart piano several years ago.

The sound is not the greatest but if you can find Furtwangler's Beethoven you will have a real winner.  The man was a genius at more than wagner.
