Vinne,

What will you tell us about the teaser you posted in
Positive Feedback ?

" BTW, a higher-powered version of the Clari-T-Amp is in the works for early 2006! "  http://www.positive-feedback.com/Issue22/clari_t.htm

Love my fully modded Clari-T with Spendor 1/2 ( 88db ).  Some more headroom would be nice though.

*nods head repeatedly*
i wanna hear about the plans for the higher powered clari-t.  i'd rather not list a bunch of posibilities and look stupid, so i'll let vinnie chime in and tell us.  But if it's anything like the current one we have right now, it should undoubtedly be a winner.

Hi guys,

I can't get into details (yet), but a higher powered Clari-T is in the works.  It will feature a custom-made Red Wine Audio OEM board and will be SLA battery powered (of course!).

I'm still figuring out what I want to do for the enclosure...

I'll keep you all posted as things fall into place.

      Gee, 30 wpc.  Maybe I want to hold off modding the Teac.  But I suspect that this one will cost more, especially if Vinnie has to build it from more of a ground up basis.

      My vote for options/enclosures:

      Two cabinet options:

      Plain black ala Clari-T;

      Fancy ala Lotus.

      I don't know how much money/hassle the wooden cabinet is, if it's close to the metal case I'd drop the metal.  OTOH its the front that is the money side, so maybe a wooden front is all that's needed.  If the power supply is in a separate box, I'd leave both plain and provide a longer power cord so the power supply box can be out of site and/or out of the way.

      Four performance options (in any combination):

      Base;

      Battery;

      Battery with A/C ala SB2/3;

      Fully tricked out (volume control, internal wiring, auricaps, black gates, input/output upgrades, etc.)

      I don't know how much cost will be involved to build a "base" unit, so perhaps only a fully loaded version is appropriate.  But with the Teac availablity drying up, a cheaper version would be good.  As labor would be the same to build base or loaded, maybe these options don't make sense.  But I do like the A/C option as casual listening represents the the bulk of the time my system is on.
