I  saw the Moodys in Cincy last night at the Arnoff (sp?) theater. Now I was never really a big fan, just knew the hits from the radio, so I didn't go in w/ any expectations. Man......were they friggin awesome. The best live sound I've ever heard. My previous 'gold' standard for live sound was Lyle Lovett, but this was just great. I think it was even in stereo, because things that were stage left sounded stage left. There was this relaxed ease to the sound that you hear w/ good audio systems, but rarely hear live.

Even better though was the music itself. These dudes can really play. As an added bonus, the girl playing flute and singing backup was a real cutie. Miss Nancy and I also thought that the drummer (the hired guy...not the original one) reminded us of Eric Hider.

So if they come to your town....you should go.

Probably my all time favorite group.

Down to what, three of the original guys now? (Hayward, Lodge and Edge?)

Have been hooked on them since the around 1969 (in Search of the Lost Chord was the first album I heard, and then I backtracked to Threshold of a Dream and Days of Future Past.

In fact I bought my first Stereo just to be able to play "Ride My See Saw" over and over.

I could tell some good tales about Moody Blues Concerts  but I'm too tired to type.

What?!?!? They were just in Cinci and I missed them?   :(  I'm kicking myself - for months I was looking and listening to see when they were coming to town.  Previous concerts of theirs have been some of the best I've been to...

I've seen them twice.   The first time was outstanding, one of my favorite concert memories.

The second time it sucked.   It was in the same auditorium but I think their engineers totally mucked up the sound.   Either that or they where all sick with the flu.
