Since the DAKSA is still a questionable product, could the R & D translate into a dac for the Squeeze box?

Yes, Philip,

Absolutely, no question.  Ben is keen to actually build and listen to it - we have the unstuffed pcb on hand - but other projects, such as the power supply and the headamp, are our present priority.

Added to this, I have some exciting announcements to make soon, will be putting them on the website!

The DAKSA interface will accept the digital output from a Squeeze box.

As Hugh said. Other projects; perfecting the sound; revisions; revisions; sigh. It will all be worth it though.
