It looks like the computer/audio convergence is really starting to become more mainstream... check out these
active speakers from Polk.
They feed the onboard digital amps directly via an Ethernet connection, and have an onboard DSP engine to handle the active crossover and room EQ. I don't know anything about Polk's quality these days, but the price is $1500 for everything but the power supply. Frankly, I was just interested in the convergence they were demonstrating...
