Ref 9: Triamping -> DC offset, Turn on spike

“The big plan” is to triamp Magnepan MG-20.1, via DEQX & 6X Reference 9 Nuforce amps.
Question is… Would you hook these things up to a $12,000 totally naked / unprotected tweeter and turn on the juice? By unprotected I mean ZEEERO analog Xover components. Just poweramp through wire to driver.
Has anyone actually measured the DC offset on one or more amps? The online spec range (which is the same stock answer I get from Nuforce) is absolutely no help to me. And finally. Is there any turn on thump? Enough to fry the Maggys in triamp?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
After a few responses (thank you) I get that it is risky, and that DC offset is a bad bad thing, but what I really need is the actual measurements so I can make my own informed decision...
Or... Has anyone actually successfully done this, and left it that way? Not just tried it for 5 min.
Hmmm... If I did put a single cap in there @ maybe 2 octaves below Xover. What cap, regardless of price would be the best, cleanest, choice ???

Not a good idea...unprotected is a risk. Do a search (dc offset) (dc) at the Apogee speaker users forum....this has been talked about in several threads in great detail.

Note: talked about in general, not in regards to Nuforce amps.

Look at this. The subject of DC -offset has been discussed. http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=17913&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=470

I was also thinking about doing an totally active setup on Apogee Duetta's + subwoofers with a DEQX unit with nuforces but now I'm more inclined to go with tubes on the MRTW (maybe even SET amps) and nuforces on the bass panels and subwoofers (maybe overkill for the subwoofers). I will receive Nuforces 9 in about two weeks and will first let them power the Apogees passively. Maybe I like the sound enough so I don't need to go totally active (wishfull thinking as I probably have been infected with the upgrading virus)
