This is really interesting...from the makers of Brilliant Pebbles

Proabbly good for all you Red Wine battery powered fanatics and mobile audiophiles too.

I think the price is SLIGHTLY high for a battery powered portable alarm clock but the battery lasts 5 years and as a bonus if placed in your listening room,
Quote
the sound will be much improved, with a higher degree of musicality

I wouldn't mind trying one if the price was maybe $20.
That alarm feature would come in handy.

Anyone want to plunge and tell if the alarm clock is good?
I wonder what the alarm sounds like?

Thanks in advance.

This thing screams hokum. Here's why:

1) No on/off switch, so it's impossible to compare what the thing does to the sound. You have to carry it out of your house and then come back - conveniently, this takes enough time that you can't remember and compare the sound before and after.

2) Sold by the manufacturer of the Brilliant Pebble, and the guy that came up with the "explanation" for the "Intelligent Chip". Riiiight.

3) The clock model varies. Which leads me to the belief that they buy up any old junky clock with a 2 year battery, glue on the plastic dot, and call it Clever.

Sure, it's all very logical.

"The Clever Little Clock's battery is not user-replaceable; however, a special replacement battery is included with each Clock."

The PWB people are the ones that came up with the practice of putting a photograph of yourself in the freezer to make music sound better.  And the rainbow foil thing.  Etc.

On the other hand, if people that buy the clever crock enjoy music more, it's worth it, I guess.

 I want a clever wristwatch.  Then, wherever I go, music sounds better.

Regards,
Music Machine

Here's a link to a column by Stereophiles J.A. that sums it up pretty well, I think. Machina Dynamica also sells the product being discussed by J.A. as well as several others that seem like hokem. But it's all relative, I suppose as some of the tweaks I've applied to my system would be thought of as b.s. by many, including myself at one time.

Actually "what's next" has been around awhile as in their $99.00 glass jar of rocks. There's even a Brilliant Pebbles"white paper" posted on their website, so they must be legit  .
