According to JD @ Gallo,
Quote
"If your thinking about running the second voice-coil of the speakers our new Reference SA sub amp will be shipping at the end of August in black or brushed silver."

The Ref Ctr & Surrounds are suppose to ship at the end of September.
Quote
"The grill will be perforated metal and the speakers will be available in matte' white, matte' black w/stainless spheres & silver-gray. They'll be packaged with wall-mounts and there will be an optional billet aluminum table stand available. The stand for the center will allow it to pivot up and down and the one for the vertical models will allow them to slide up and down to adjust for various flat panel TV's. "

This was what I was told on 7/29.

I got mine last week.

Some details:

-binding posts are cheap plastic
-can be overdriven pretty easily (at least on my system until I tweaked
     some preamp settings)
-initial setup has some tricks (the thing is not quite ready to plug in when
     you open it):
move the power switch (red light means AC present, unit off)
     set the xover point correctly
     set the phases
(the initial settings are nowhere close)

+:  the flexibility
+:  the sound

bgrazman,

When you say "can be overdriven pretty easily", do you mean amp clipping or overdriving/bottoming out the woofer on the Ref 3's  :?:

Thanks,

Arnold

Move the power switch? Is there an issue or just inconvienence...
Nowhere near plug n play: What are some the tricks you are referring to?

Good to hear that it is flexible as promised and is providing better sound
