Best sounding portable MP3 player?
« on: 17 Apr 2003, 12:22 am »
Does the IPOD pretty much rule portable mp3 player land.  I am looking for good sound, but I also want to ride my bike with it.  I do not want the player to be that noticable on my hip.

Also would like at least 24 hours of battery life.

Looking for any and all opinions.

I've got a Nomad II. But I've never used it for MP3 use so I can't comment on that. I only use it for the FM radio.

It's not terribly large. Fits in my front pants pocket rather nicely.

But I only get 12 hours or so out of a standard Duracell (takes 1 AA). If you pick up some Duracell Procells you'd probably get over 24 hours. I haven't bought any in a while as I couldn't get them where I used to any longer. But I recently came across them here http://www.electricaldeals.com/html/prodresults.php3?Category=BAT&Subcategory=ALK

I've not tried Procells on an MP3 player. But I used to get 60 hours out of them on my Gameboy, while a standard Duracell would give me 15 hours.
