Can this woofer be saved?
« on: 3 Feb 2007, 09:28 pm »
I was the recipient of a pair of old Wharfdale woofers, which I want to use as replacements in my Coral loudspeakers (oldies with horn midrange and tweeter).  This is strictly a budget DIY project.  As you can see in the photo, on one of the woofers the cone is separated from the cloth surround.  I'm thinking I can glue them back together... any suggestions as to what glue to use (or is it more complicated than this)?  Thanks much.

Gluing paper to cloth, Elmer's would do If I were going out to buy glue I would get Tightbond white PVA glue probably perfect for this application...John

Thanks John, that did the job.  I have some Elmers yellow wood glue (PVAc, whatever that is) which I used.  I installed the woofer in my Coral BX-53 w/Klipsch horn midrange, and it's workin' fine.  Gary.
