Sorry, I didn't see this question.

Since I am on Verizon, I never get the little e-mails that tell you when someone posts to your threads, so I have to "catch" them.

But anyhow....Ding, Ding, DIng....

Yes, it is exactly that.

It makes a very nice improvement to the RM30's.

The more adventurous could try a DIY upgrade by contacting Andre at e-speaker.com for BlackHole-5, or check Parts Express for their "Sonic Barrier"

Actually, I would log onto silentsource.com and source "Whispermat".  It is more or less the same as BH5 or Sonic Barrier but a lot less expensive.  I used a bunch on my RM40s when I was doing the upgrades and it was a nice addition.

Would this be a viable option for my 626r's?  I would like to give it a whirl.  That said, if I am going to do this, I want it to be the best option.  Which would work the best, bh5, whispermat, sonic barrier, etc?

Kind of slow around here lately :nono:

6 in one, half a dozen in the other.  Check out the BH5 vs. whispermat comparison on zaphaudio.com.  I have strong reason to believe that WM is the OEM for sonic barrier and they are in fact the same thing.

Thanks Josh,

I likeyour reasoning...especially with it being much cheaper.  Would the benefit to the 626r's be the same as for the rm30/40 etc
?

For you DIY'ers you need to line the inside of the cabinet with either:

1) Black Hole 5
2) Sonic Barrier
3) Whispermat

Black Hole can be purchased through E-speaker (tell Andre John from VMPS sent you)

Sonic Barrier can be purchased through Parts Express

WhisperMat through Silent Source.  Whispermat2 looks to be the most similar with multiple layers.

This product is good for mains and subs.

I can't offer any installation tips, since I haven't done a DIY on anything yet, except cover as much of the internal sufaces as possible with particular attention paid to the inside walls opposing the bass drivers and all corners.
