Suggestions for speakers for 2nd room
« on: 19 Apr 2003, 07:34 pm »
Hi Guys,

I've decided to use 2 channels of my Outlaw 7100 7-channel amp to power a pair of speakers in a second room.  I want to mount them high up in the corners so that I get good coverage for the entire room.  The room isn't really big but I'd like something that is fairly sensitive and can play pretty loud for parties.  I will also be using a SVS 20-39PC in the room so low bass isn't a concern.  I'm thinking whatever I use should be a front-ported or sealed design since they will be very close to the walls.  Any ideas?

but try an old pair of Radio Shack Minimus 7 speakers from eBay.
Metal cabinets and a 4" midrange/1"? tweet. They have mounting hardware on the back that lets you put them right where the walls/ceiling come together, reinforcing bass to a surprising degree. A pair are like $25.
If you don't like 'em put them in the garage.

They've been around forever, and there are even tweak-sites if you want to play around. BTW, there's different versions of the tweeter and one is better--think it's metal vs. plastic but don't quote me.

Or buy Gallo Micro cubes if you MUST spend $$.
