Has anyone heard any rumor about Perreaux having a new distributor in the US? The other day I was speaking to a guy that said Perreaux was set on a new US distributor. He said this distributor would only distribute Perreaux and not an arrangement like the Audio Advisor or the Sanibel Sound/HiFi Farm where Perreaux was nothing more than another product on their shelves. The new distributor will also provide service (no more “how do I get this back to New Zealand” for repair, if it ever needs it) and will sell direct to the consumer until a dealer has been established within that person’s city/market. He also mentioned that the distributor will accept returns within 30 days or so if you don’t like the product, no questions asked.
I’ve been a Perreaux fan since the mid-80s, purchased again in the mid-90s from a New Zealand dealer due to a lack of US presence, and tried to buy a few years ago until I found out that Audio Advisor was the distributor/dealer. Buying from them is a personal no-no for me.
As a long time reader (but never a participant) of these postings, I’ve picked-up a ton of valuable info and insight from the items read. So, I thought someone might have some insight or maybe heard a rumor of some sort. I’ve heard many rumors about an impending Perreaux announcement over the years for a US distributor, but it seems to be more of an Audio Advisor type arrangement.
Anyone heard anything?
