Splitting an AES/EBU digital signal - need help
« on: 19 Jun 2005, 02:51 am »
I'm planning on using two Behringer DCX2496 crossovers for my next project, a 5 way active speaker system. I'll need to split the digital signal out of a DEQ2496 AES/EBU output. I see that there are passive boxes available as well as rather expensive powered boxes, and almost everything available seems to be coming out of the UK. Those Brits are splitting digital signals like crazy over there. Is there no American that needs a splitter?
My signal path will be very short, so I'm not sure I need to spend the money for an amplified signal switcher. But at the same time, I don't want to risk degrading the signal.

Thanks dwc,

I've posted some questions over there and got some answers. A
A company in Englad makes a passive splitter for $117.00. I might be going with that.
