kinda of a basic question but aside from cosmetics what is the differnce between the lotus and the regular cari t.
love the look of the lotus in general but just curious
Hi kbuzz3,
Thanks for your question:
The stock "regular" Clari-T
(
http://www.redwineaudio.com/Clari_T_Amp.html )
does not have the same level of upgrades as the Lotus.
You can think of a Lotus has a highly upgraded/customized Clari-T with the following upgrades:
-- Black Gate power supply decoupling caps soldered directly to the 12V pins of the TA2024 chip
-- Auricap input coupling caps (direct wiring from RCA jacks to TA2024 board)
-- Cardas RCA jacks and speaker binding posts
-- Larger 5Ah battery (> 2X the playtime between charges than the stock Clari-T)
And then there is the cosmetics...the Macassar Ebony enclosure, black acrylic base, gold spike feet, 12V battery gauge, etc..
Yes, the Clari-T can be upgraded to the same performance level as the Lotus (
http://www.redwineaudio.com/Clari_T_Customization.html ), but
will use a black anodized aluminum enclosure (approx 6" x 8" x 3")
Regards,
