I started out with VMPS with one of their magazine ads in the 1980's. Bought a new pair of Super Tower R's from one of Brian's local dealers in Washington DC area. Had them a few years.
Then, in mid 2000's bought from a recoding studio in the LAX area a nice pair of RMS Elixr's the big black darth vaders. They were wonderful.
When retired in 2015 sold them and listened to a pair of Magnepans.
Recently bought a nice pair of RM40's which of course will set me off on a long spelunking adventure.
Ribbons are my thing. Met Brian Cheney at his El Sobrante digs when the Elixr's blew one of the super tweeters. Fixed no charge. Him and his pal James Bongiorno where a serious pair of genuises. I had a pair of Ampzilla 2000 2d Edition for some years, along with an Ambrosia preamp. All stellar stuff.
