IA-9X - feedback and questions
« on: 4 Oct 2025, 09:41 am »
Hi all. This is my first post.

I am Isten, from France.

I've been the proud owner of an IA-9X for two years now.
This amplifier works every day, and I'm very happy with it.
It serves a Wiim Pro +, an Atoll CD100 CD player and a Denon DP400 turntable.
The speakers are Titus EZ triangles. The amplifier does its job efficiently. It doesn't get too hot.

However, I have a lack of power when listening to some vinyls, I really have to turn up the volume for a satisfactory listening.
I have a nagaoka MP150 on my turntable. Is there a way to remedy this?

For now, I don't use the phono input anymore, I decided to amplify the signal via a Rodec bunk 01, and the sound rendering is gaining in magnitude.

I want now to upgrade my speakers, and my question is :

can the IA-9X power a pair of Dynaudio Evoke 20 (6ohms) without heating up or shut down? Is the association relevant? Maybe there are better options?

Thank you for your feedback, and thanks to Nuprime, for the daily music.

Isten

It is OK to turn up the volume as the preamp design is comparable to PRA-9X.
UNLESS, after you turn the volume way up and still feel that it lacks power, we have a way to upgrade your IA-9X.

Rustydoglim,

Thank you very much for your answer.

When you say "we have a way to upgrade your IA-9X", what way is it ?

Thanks

Replace the power supply. Don't ask me how or when :).  We will find out in November how it can be done.
