I have a pair of klipschorns I am thinking of modifying. The first modification I would like to do is to enclose the backs. I do not have an ideal spot to have them sitting flush into corners. Does anyone have suggestions about the best method or materials to use?
I also would like to know of any good mods to do inside the cabinets before sealing them up.

Dont do it, it will ruin this nice vintage speaker IMO. Instead buy a RF82/83 used or other model. But if you google Enclosing Klipschorns there is various articles about this mod.

You could paint mate black inside for less resonance.

Can you use a false wall to get a corner?

It is a popular way to create a corner where there is none.

First of all have you tried them in different locations like close to the corner and angled?   

Those speakers use the back as a tuned port pretty much like the opening in the front on their sister cabinets.  Closing that port will change the woofer action and response.  You could try blocking the port with some pillow or dense foam or a plastic bag with the foam inside to seal the opening. 

I have a pair of Electro Voice K Horns and am playing with them also.  And for my ear they need the port and some wall close by.

As Opnly bafled a false wall test of a piece of plywood or heavy cardboard set up in a temporary setting will also help with some of your thoughts.

And if you seal off the back will there be a way to service the components?

IF you look there is a extensive Klipsch owners groups out there and they have cover this topic I bet.

A floorplan drawing or at least a couple of room pic's would be a useful  start.

I'm working on my house and don't have a good picture of the room, although it is not a great room for my stereo. I'll post a picture when it's all back together.
