I have SB tw29rn and the original tw29r. They are dimple dome so the center of the dome is glued down, preventing center of dome resonance and reducing distortion. I love the way they sound, almost like rigid dome but gentler and very musical but still tons of bite and detail. I got the neo version bc I needed more sensitivity for a 8" high sensitivity woofer but the neo tw29rn still couldn't play low or loud enough for the 8". So I got SEAS T35 instead. I doubt that will have same ultra clean sound as the Satori.

The tw29dn looks to be identical to tw29rn except for no dimple. So there is more displacement from the whole diaphragm  pumping air so it goes a little deeper and louder at the bottom of range. But this comes at the price of less diaphragm control at high freqs. If you are tone nut like me and need precision high end I would stick with dimple.

I've heard the 3004/6620 illuminator on Selah speakers. It sounded good but the steep passive xo held it back IMO. One tweeter did eventually fail with coil rubbing and was replaced with RAAL ribbon upgrade and active deqx crossover, which was one of the best speakers I ever heard, thanks to member Rob S. But the 6620 tweeter was easily repaired by retightening the back screws. I doubt the 6620 sounds 30% better than the SB for the 30% higher price.
thank you very much for your contribution.
I had the TW29RN and loved it and was wondering if the TW29DN is more extended in the highs although less controlled in the high frequencies.
Let's see if there are other testimonies ;)

What you write about the TW29RN dimp dome i think is also valid for scan-speak which however have the ogive while sbacoustics do not.

thank you very much for your feedback on the D7100, but if you can, could you specify why you liked it, what other tweeters you compared it to, thanks.

Of the others in your list, I specifically did not like the TW29R. To me it sounds sortof closed-in whereas the 7100 sounds natural and open (for a dome tweeter). However you apparently like the TW29 so as I said, I doubt you will get much useful from an opinion poll ;)

With that said, I got the 7100s on clearance (discontinued color I think?) and I don't think I'd pay full retail. Unfortunately the only way to know is implement yourself and see. On my last speaker I made a replaceable baffle for the tweeter which I'll be doing from now on, it's actually the hardest component to get right (I think, IMO etc).

but the TW29R is much more closed than the D7100?, how is the acoustic scene in comparison?
From my list, have you tried only the D7100 and TW29R, or also the D6600 and especially the TW29D?
