To leave on, or to leave off. That is the question.

I have received a pre-amp. Since I like the the function of it (remote control), I swapped it with my existing one in the main system.   I took the existing pre-amp and put it as the office setup.

The main system gets shut off by a power center, so every thing gets shut off when not in use (which is good because of the turntable motor is always on). The existing pre-amp is a passive one, but it was modded with an active buffer (separate box with umbilical) that has no power switch. Should I add, at the very least, something to turn it off with (power strip)? Or, should I leave it on and not worry about it?

Should I sell it, and get something more user friendly?

I am assuming that the buffer doesn't use a lot of power, if so just leave it on and be done with it. It will be fine.
