This my pair of Salk Soundscape 9.5 towers and matching Soundscape 9C center channel in a dark walnut finish. The towers feature a 1” SB Acoustics Satori beryllium dome tweeter, 4” Audio Technology midrange, and a 9.5” SB Acoustics woofer in a dual passive radiator configuration. The center uses the same tweeter and midrange combined with 6” SB Acoustics Satori woofers in a ported configuration (shown with ports plugged in the photos). The towers are rated down to 25 Hz, in room I was getting closer to 20 Hz. I purchased them new from Salk in 2020, and they have been used in my smoke free, pet free, kid free theater.
I have owned several sets of Salk speakers, and these are my absolute favorite. They combine the detail of the Soundscape 8s and some of the organic presentation of the Exotica 3 towers, all while being supremely neutral with great off-axis response and wide soundstage. The midrange can be used in an open, semi-open, or closed configuration. Polyfill and the magnetic midrange backs are included.
My space is large (5500 ft^3) and is used exclusively for home theater. As a result, it made a bit more sense to go with a higher sensitivity design that I could get matching surrounds for. I would absolutely use these in a second system, but I don’t know when that will happen. Pics don’t do these speakers justice, they are absolutely works of art. They are too gorgeous to sit in a dark theater space.
They come with all original grills and an extra set of grills in Guilford of Maine Anchorage Onyx. I have always used white museum gloves when touching them and have done my best to preserve the finish. There are no flaws with the finish on the towers that I can see. The top of the center channel came with a small problem on the finish. The spray gun must have clogged and there are a few spots where the finish isn’t perfect on the top. Jim offered to correct this for free, but I didn’t want to repack and send them back at that point. I tried to highlight this in a few of the pics. It’s basically a few small, opaque dots. Other than refinishing the center entirely, I don’t believe there’s anything that can be done there.
They include the upgraded Soundcity outriggers and metal discs for underneath the spikes. Shown in the pics are Herbies gliders which I purchased separately and ideally I’d like to keep unless you talk me into including them with the speakers.
I have the original boxes and I do have pallets, but I recall these shipped on oversized pallets which I don’t have. Ideally I’d prefer pickup, and/or I can rent a Uhaul van and meet you part way. Location is 23692 in Virginia. These towers were $12,000, the center $6,000, and $300 for the outriggers, and for $18.3k before shipping. I’m offering them for $12,500 including driving to meet up within reasonable distance or plus shipping if needed. Add 3% if Paypal fees.
