I am selling my two-year old Spatial Audio X-5 Premium open baffle speakers. Local pick-up in Palm Springs, CA. I have the original boxes. They have Iso Acoustic footers. These are X-5 not X-3. $3,300
I am the second owner. The first owner had them for about two months and I believe he told me he had a credit crunch and had to sell them. They were manufactured on April 26, 2022. See picture 4.
There are some issues with these speakers. There are some imperfections on one of the speakers. See picture 2. The major problem is neither one the subwoofers are now working, one stopped working, and I was sent a new amp but it still doesn’t work. Then the other one stopped working. This may be the reason they stopped making this model.
Anyway, there is plenty of bass in the other drivers. One of my favorite tracks is Poem of Chinese Drum on Master of Chinese Percussion by Yim Hok-Man. Sounds pretty good. Since you will be coming hear you can decide for yourself. Most of the music I listen to doesn’t have deep bass.
The speakers have great sound, and I could easily live with them forever. However, I was able to get a tremendous deal on more expensive speakers.
I have a very resolving system. An IFI Neo Stream feeds a Ferrum Wandla DAC through its USB output The DAC is connected to a Balance Audio Technology (BAT) integrated amp (through quality XLR cables) which has a tube preamp with Russian military tubes and a solid- state amplifier. This is then connected to the speakers using Silversmith Fidelium cables. The speakers sound great with the other components.
