SUT Demo - Atlanta
« on: 7 Sep 2024, 02:36 pm »
Hey I'm looking to test out a SUT to see if it will improve my setup. I've read a lot of positive reviews and would like to try it out before I purchase one.

This may be long stretch, but this forum has always been very generous.

I would like to borrow a SUT for a week or two to see if I need one for my setup. If you are local I would happily come get it. If you are not local but willing to lend one out, I would be happy to pay for the shipping both ways.

Here is my setup:

Acoustic Solid - Solid Wood MPX
Michelle  Technoarm2 tonearm
Clearaudio Concept MC cartridge
PS Audio GCPH Phono preamp

If anyone has experience with a similar setup, that would be helpful too.

Thanks ahead of time

I don’t know about SUT as I have not tried one. Like you I too do have an Acoustic Solid Turntable, I have the One to One. I have done a lot to it, bus some of the stuff I have done to improve it are a new motor and a good Matt.

The Matt is the cheapest upgrade I have done to it, I am using an Achromat APM. An amazing upgrade, you will be surprised at how much better your turntable will sound. Just check that you can raise your tonearm by at least 7mm as the Achromat is 7mm thick.

The other upgrade I recommend is a Dereneville motor, yes this motor cost more than your whole turntable but it will be like getting a brand new turntable that is a lot better than your current one.
I talked about the motor here https://www.whatsbestforum.com/threads/dereneville-dae-01-cl.31745/

I would recommend both upgrades and if you can’t afford both, get the Matt.
