MOFI SP10

Hello,

Seeking some feedback for the SP10. I’m seeking a pair of standmounts below $8k new. Music preference would be acoustic jazz trio and some vocals… low to moderate listening levels. Great piano, clean cymbal and brushwork reproduction is a must. As my integrated amp is laid back and warmish…. I’m hoping for speakers that are known to have an open, airy and somewhat fast sound signature (no thick and mid centric sound sig). I’m ok with a tilted top end but it has to be clean and clear. Current sound from my system is too laid back and soft at the top for my taste.  Speakers are harbeth shl5 40th… which I love but it doesn’t go well with my amp. I’ve decided to try changing speakers.

Thank you

Jon L

I would watch the above speaker comparisons including Mofi sourcepoint 10, Spendor 2/3 (somewhat similar to your Harbeths), and Epos.  Use good headphones or real speakers to listen and see if your like the difference between Mofi and others.  This channel has superb recording technique and sound quality.

Thanks Jon. To me … the spendor sounds hazy and slightly veiled in comparison with the other 2. I don’t have headphones and my 2 channel system is not integrated with tv. So I’m going with tv speakers. Mofi seems a step in the right direction … and so are the epos.
