Anybody been keeping up with it?
Watched the men's game yesterday and thought to myself
this is what the NBA Allstar games should look like.
U.S. pulled one off in a dramatic fashion.

I'm on a mini boycott of the Olympics, only watching a few minutes here and there when nothing else is on.  To me it's no longer the Olympics, it's a curated professional show meant to general tons of cash for the sponsors.  But I did catch the end of the Gold Medal game against France and Curry put in the most amazing performance I've ever seen on a basketball court, anywhere, ever.  He had been dumping threes like they were layups, but France recovered and got within two scores at the end when Steff just took the game over by himself.  Defense, steals, and a fall away under pressure for three for the ages.  My goodness, great basketball for a non basketball fan.

Ditto-ish.  While it’s definitely a showcase of athletic potential the Olympics lost much of its appeal when it was opened to professional athletes.  Of course those lines have been blurred and I have to admit the occasions I do tune in are exciting.  The Olympics are likely the only time I’ll watch a particular sport and I particularly enjoy the personal stories of the athletes of some of the lower profile sports.

Yes they are professional basketball players but it was really nice to see them be proud of wearing the uniform! Not only the USA, but the same was true of Victor Wembanyama from France who was literally in tears after the loss and Nikola Jokic from Serbia who I've never seen be so animated in his games.
