Australian music lover
« on: 15 Jun 2024, 01:21 am »
I’m 64, recently retired and moved back from North Texas to the Central Coast NSW Australia.  My interest in HiFi and audio gear is driven by my lifelong love of music.  As I was a teen in the ‘70s my first love was classic rock - The Who, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppellin, etc., still love those bands but have somewhat broadened my tatstes over the years to include folk, alt country/Americana, classical etc.

Most of my HiFi gear is currently iin a container at Port of Longbeach CA waiting to be shipped to Australia, current ETA is mid August.  So having to make do with a pair of Sony in ear headphones,my iPhone and Qobuz.

My set up includes:
Roon, Qobuz, Lumin U1-Mini, Chord Qutest, Naim Supernait 3, Zu Audio DW6 Superfly, Audiolab CD8200, Senn HD650.  I also have a pair of Elac FS247 speakers and a Vincent 236 MK hybrid integrated amp.  I have also recently bought a Pro Ject X1 turntable so that I can play my long neglected vinyl collection, which was bought mainly in the ‘70s and ‘80s.

Other interests include cycling (bike is in the container too!) and photography, hoping to do a lot more of those as well as having time to listen to more music!

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

Cheers & Welcome to AC Dave   :thumb:  If you haven't already you might check out Asleep At The Wheel, Western Swing. Kind of an alt country. Hopefully they beat the current stated ETA, and all arrives in fine fettle.
