Midsummer news from Mapletree Audio
« on: 27 Jul 2005, 02:35 pm »
Just an update on what is new and planned at Mapletree Audio. For the first time this year, I have no orders on the books so I have had a bit of time to do some product development  work. Here are the results:

• Super Stealth monoblocs now available in kit form. A very satisfying kit is ready to go following beta testing by several customers. As usual, chassis colors include black, red, or yellow. Conservatively rated at 8 W using the new Electroharmonix matched pair 6V6GTs and Hammond output transformer.

• "Special Red" octal driver board for the Dynaco Stereo 70. This is a unique entry in this field with all octal tubes (2x6SJ7, 2x6SL7GT), Mullard circuit topology, and point-to-point wiring. No more PCBs in your Dynaco! This is a "drop in" replacement with connections made to silver-plated turrets. One other resistor change is required in the original power supply. Detailed instructions for installation are provided. I have tested this in a stock ST 70 and in an ST 70 clone of my own construction (see photo) and have found it to provide a very balanced sonic character with excellent transient response. It is offered at a very special intriductory price with or without tubes.

• Mapletree Audio newsletter. I hope to get the first issue online in a few weeks. It will be published each month or two and provide some interesting  ideas for tweaks and modifications, as well as some customer feedback, photos, and experiences with various types of equipment used with the Mapletree components.

If you have any questions about the Mapletree products or any other related audio matter, please call or email me anytime. There is still free shipping available this month and fast, fast service!

Cheers,

Lloyd
