Heads Up, Target is selling a wood crate that is ideal for LP albums, (you know - vinyls).
Its an unfinished wood crate made from Paulownia Wood. Outside dimensions are 14" L x 13" W x 11" H with 3/8" thick walls. These don't look like plywood. Surface texture is a bit course so they will need to be sanded with some 100 or 120 grit sandpaper before finishing. I bought 3 and stained and sealed them, and, I liked them so well that I went back and got 2 more. The list price is $20.00 ea, but at the moment are on sale for $16.00 each. Considering what other dedicated wood record crates cost, they are a steal. They are in stock at some stores. Here's the link:

Also, If you want a prefinished crate option, here's one for you. Its a dark finished wood file crate. You will have to cut out the 2 hanging file folder rods, then they will be perfect. They hold about 1/3 less albums than the unfinished one above. Cut the rods in the middle and the pieces come right out, then you are good to go.
