I've tried gluing grill cloth onto frames but much prefer stapling on backside as I just have more control and no potential for glue where I don't want it.
Most recently I gave this method a shot.

Hi,
We used to install grill cloth in grill frame using contact cement and staples by staple gun. I advice you paint the frame also so you do not see the wood frame.

If you are handy with a router, preferably mounted to some type of router table, this is how I attached my H Frame grill cloth a few years back. Has held up great. Basically its like building a screen using rubber screen spline to hold the cloth in the groove.

Thanks for the tips. Staples it is.
I did have a router table but, I gave it away when we moved along with chainsaws, a log splitter, a pair of fine axes, lot of firearms. etc, etc. We did sell the tractor.
