I found a really nice pair of LS9's, they should be here in a week or two. They are stock from AV123 from the original owner. In my room I have some really high ceilings and a wide room so I hope I am ok there. I have a front wall with fireplace and does not extend fully across the front of the room. I really can't pull them out into the room too far, but should have some open space behind the speakers and plan on having the tweeters on the inside. I suspect I may have to do a lot of diffusion on the front wall, we will see once I fire them up. Nice thing is they have the bass management system. I will be powering them with a Belles 150A V2, and plan on getting a second to run them as mono blocks at 500 watts each once I get the electrical upgraded.  I was finally score a pair and these happen to be well cared for beautiful example, the seller is a super nice guy.  Lot's a reading and research lead me on the journey in the GR Circle on AC, thanks to all for your insight into this hobby. These are the actual pics of the speakers in the seller's house. He has the bases, just not put them on yet. I am super excited, these have been the dream speaker for me on the wish list for a long time.

Nice find! A coworker friend of mine who directed me toward this site has a pair of LS9. They had the Skiing Ninja upgraded crossovers, but he pulled that out and now has active crossover system from Rich at Hollis Audio Labs. Definitely worth checking out if you get the itch to upgrade. Sounds like you'll have a rocking good time on Halloween.

Welcome to the club.  They are great speakers when well set up.  Experiment with placement, absorption, and diffusion to get them at their best.

I like what Rich does with his active crossovers and dsp . Where these LS9s crossover and with what they have to do in a line array application, I will definitely go with Danny's crossover philosphy and if anything attempt to upgrade the passive network and add the no rez for now. I think Rich's little streamer box with the software and dsp before the dac may be a better way to go for me of I am having room problems. When comparing active vs passive I always seems to prefer the passive crossover sound, tone, and tuning to my speakers.

Quick question regarding the bases. Mine were not attached and the hardware was not included. Can anyone advise the best way to attached these? Looks like I may have to remove a driver or rear plate and attach bolts with lock washer and nut.

First off, beautiful pair of LS9's!     I have LS6's with the same base and they do not require any bolting from the inside.  They have the same cutouts/holes yours does and use super long wood screws that go in through the holes and attach to the bottom of the actual speaker.  That's it.  Nothing more to it than that.  I think the screws are like an inch or an inch and a half.  They hold just fine but I don't exactly move them much.

I loved my LS9’s. Perhaps some of Danny’s best work. They are very room sensitive though. The bass is beyond powerful. I switched to a Lyngdorf integrated amp a few years back because my room can be difficult.

I would still have the LS9’s if I had this amp back then. It would have made them perfect in the bass. The only thing I ever owned that compared was the Ephipany 20/21’s. The 20/21’s have stunning highs and separated choir vocals better than any speaker I have ever heard, but they didn’t have quite enough low bass.

Playing good cello, brass and vocal recordings through the LS9 was just breathtaking. Resolution to die for. They are special.

1/4 by 1.5 inch long hex bolts from Home Depot fit perfectly for the base

I was just playing these tonight. Holy smokes, I don't think you can get better for the money.
