It was said that Deep Purple was the loudest Rock band in the world, measured at 117 decibels.
Now I went to a Chili Peppers concert and the opening band Mars Volta, I measured at 112 decibels, damn that was loud. Measuring the crowd cheering my meter hit 115 decibels, but the crowd was actually louder as I didn't correct my meter to the next higher level.
Typically on my Home Stereo I listen in the 95 decibel region 100 decibels 'C' weighted, I get lots of bass. Lately though I have been mellowing out and my decibel levels have come down to more sane levels except for when I play In-a-godda-da-vida.
Anyway what is the loudest concert you've measured? And at what volume level do you typically listen at home?
