Prism Sound is a major name in the pro audio world. The design and design of this DAC is the same as the much more expensive Prism Lyra interface, that cost $10K, and is used in many top recording studios around the world.
This is wonderful sounding DAC. Warm, natural and detailed. I pair it with a Transformer Volume Control (TVC) with amazing results. I got the idea to pair this combination from this review by The Sound Advocate.
https://www.thesoundadvocate.com/2021/05/prism-sound-callia-dac-comprehensively-assessed/If anyone is interested using with my TVC (Django with steven and billington tx102 transformers) let me know. I soon will be posting this for sale.
That said, the internal volume control and headphone amp (with its own separate volume control) are both also excellent.
I spent a lot of time researching DACs and read many excellent reviews. Based on my homework, I decided to go with Prism rather than another DAC of the month from China. If interested, I suggest you spend some time reviewing the many positive reviews found here.
https://www.prismsound.com/hifi/reviews.phpThis DAC is about 9 months old. It is basically new condition.
I am selling this DAC (and the TVC) only because I purchased a processor and plan on implementing active crossovers and room correction in the digital domain before using the built-DAC function in the procosser. Otherwise, I would be keeping the Prism because I was completely satisfied in using it.
Asking $1000 but will consider reasonable offers. Thanks very much for looking.
