The Brute The Bully and The Beast
« on: 27 Oct 2023, 11:26 am »
We have seen the Brute.  We are looking at the Bully and we know the Beast is coming.  Kind of reminds me of the movie Split.  "The Beast is coming".  I know the differences in the sub sections of the three but what is the difference between a Bravo MTM and a XLS Encore MTM?  I think the Bravo MTM or bully will have a slightly better spectral decay and I have heard or read in the forum that it does vocals and piano very well.  That probably correlates with the better spectral decay.  The Beast on the other hand will blow your head off with the Subs and the bigger MTM Encore while being just slightly more efficient.

The "Bravo" models use the smaller 5.25" M130 woofers
The "Encore" models use the larger 6.5" M165 woofers

Both varieties are designed to sound the same as they're both light weight paper cone woofers.
They both have a very clean spectral decay.
The main difference is box size requirements and bass extension.
In a full ported box, the M130 will play to 55Hz ported (two in a tower can play to ~45Hz)
The M165 in the X-SLS box will play down to 45Hz (two will play down to~ 35Hz)

For the Beast, we should get a little bit more efficiency, but will have a similar sound signature to the Brute and Bully.
The good thing about the subs is you can adjust them to best suit your room.
