Scott Nixon TubeDac+ is on the way...

I should have my Scott Nixon TubeDac+ any day now.  It's prompted me to go back and read all of the threads about it.  I don't buy new things for my system very often so I'm pretty excited about getting this.

This will be the second item I've bought without hearing it first.  The last was an Odyssey Stratos Extreme amp - that purchase turned out Really well.   :D  So, I'm hoping this one will be as enjoyable.

My only concern is the actual hookup of it.  I've currently got a Pioneer Elite DVD (DV-45A) player going to a Denon receiver; so my setup is doing double duty for music and HT. I don't want to lose my Dolby Digital and DTS capabilities.  Scott told me that his unit won't pass thru those signals.  I'm hoping I can use multiple (optical and coax) digital outputs from my DVD player and use my DVD input AND my CD input on the receiver, with the SN Tubedac in line of the CD input.

I've got my fingers crossed this will work, otherwise I may have to get a dedicated CD player.

Anyway, just sharing my excitement about my new purchase.  If anyone has any thoughts about hookup I'd be glad to hear.  Thanks in advanced.

I'm not sure if it applies, but I used a similar approach and it worked just fine.  I was using a Sony dv-500 to P3a to preamp and used my preamp to switch between analog SACD output and the dig. output for everything else...
Obviously, didn't involve two dig. outs.

I've used a Pioneer to output optical to one DAC and coax to another so, it should work for you.

It will be interesting to hear your comments of the sound quality. :)
