I'm thinking of bi-amping a pair of Athenas using two SI amps when the new ones come out.  Trouble is, my source (CI Audio DAC) only has one pair of RCA outs.  Is there an elegant way to get around this?

I think you can use a Y-cable to split the signal on each channel. (not sure of the elegance factor of that).  Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

I would be interested in the details of how you plan to modify the AS-F2s to accept bi-amping.  Mine only have one set of binding posts.  I thought about modifying them down the road and upgrading the crossover parts, but it might do more harm than good.

If the Athenas have only one set of binding posts, only way you can use 2 SI to biamp is to open the speaker, separate the wire leads going to woofer and tweeter, and build another set of binding posts on the back just for tweeter.  You COULD do this, and maybe even "upgrade" the crossover parts inside while you are at it.

However, I don't think you should do it b/c speakers like Athenas that sound good and priced reasonably can be thrown off its good balance with "upgrades."  The drivers, cabinet, crossover design, parts (however cheap they may be) have somehow come together into a reasonable balance and sound quality, possibly maybe even largely due to luck, and messing around with that may not be a great idea.  

You could use one channel of one SI to power L speaker and one channel of the other SI to power R speaker (2 channels not used).  Technically, this doesn't increase WPC, but people are reporting sound improves anyway due to less strain on the power supply.  In this case, make sure to buy some good Y splitters.  I recommend the solid metal ones that are gold plated, NOT Rat Shack plastic or wire ones (horrible sounding).
