Starting the journey
« on: 25 Oct 2022, 01:34 pm »
Hello, I recently gave away my audio gear to force myself into purchasing an upgraded system.
I’ve been auditioning a few new speakers. Klipsch Heritage line, Zu Dw, Focal, Devore, JBL. It’s been quite the whirlwind. I recently stumbled on the Omega Dynaten speakers, anyone with info on these? I currently have a dedicated room off the house 335sq ft, 10’ ceilings.

Welcome!

Is the room dedicated to audio?  Is it well acoustically insulated?  What are the dimensions of the room?

Agree that passive loudspeakers should be easy to drive, but many vendors, such as Klipsch are notorious for over rating they efficiency.

Suggest looking into active monitors, used in recording/mixing studios.  They are the modern version of passive loudspeakers with deeper/fuller bass and greater dynamics.  Consumer versions come with interesting features such as room correction, wireless connection, and built-in DAC's.

Welcome.  Pick what speakers sound good to you and will work in your room and don't worry about efficiency unless you want to go with low powered amps like SET's.

A speaker to look at are the Fyne Audio 702's at around $9600pr.  Beautiful sounding speaker rated at 92dB and 8 ohms.  You have to see them in person to appreciate the beauty of the finish.  They also have a large sweet spot and sound glorius.

You mentioned Devore.  You can't go wrong with them as well.
