I'm thinning the herd again... and these ones are REALLY hard to let go of, but a LOT of renovation expense to my loft is making me do it...

This is a nice pair of Ref 3A de Capo's with the beryllium tweeters. These are the latest generation of de Capo's except they don't have the added mass/backplate thing which the VERY latest have.

These are very natural sounding speakers. They image and soundstage like mad. Impressive LF for their size as well. There is plenty out there on the web about them, so I won't go into more detail. They are in good shape, I purchased them from Fritz of Fritz speakers because he got them to compare to his designs and after having them a few years he decided to move them on. I would rate them a 8/10 for condition. There are a few little speckles in the Nextel which I am not sure what it is, but I think will come off but I didn't want to but it very hard. It's an interesting finish. There are a couple spots on the edges of were flat surfaces come together that kinda look like "rubs" but again... I didn't want to mess with them too much. Overall they present very nicely and nothing I've mentioned is visible other than close up. Grills are in great shape. I took off the cheesy Ref3A badges... but I have them. These speakers retail for something like $3300 new.

I also have a set of Sound Anchor stands which are insanely heavy... like 70lbs each. They were made for a pair of Harbeth M30's... but fit these really great. Just some overhang on the front since the de Capo's are deeper than the Harbeths. I do have the original boxes and packing setup. They include spikes. The stands were $1100 new.

Shipping on the speakers and the stands, together or separate won't be cheap... but I'll work with someone if they want. I have a great freight shipper that probably could ship these most places around the country for $200-300 I'm guessing.

I'm asking $2250 for the whole package, OBRO, plus actual shipping. I would possibly separate, but would prefer to sell as a package. I would also be willing to drive upto 3hrs (about 250mi) from 67213, Wichita, Kansas, to meet if someone wanted to meet part way.

Hit me up with questions.

They are 24" tall with a 10x10" top plate. Originally built for Harbeth M30's. I might sell separately. I have a semi-local buyer interested in them also. AND I'm eyeballing a pair of monitors which they would actually work really well for... so no matter what I need to sell the DeCapos first.

Hello again.  Could you tell me the age of the speakers and when they were modified?  Also was the capacitor changed when they were modified?

Thank you

I don't know the exact age of the speakers. I am the 3rd owner. I bought them from Fritz of Fritz Loudspeakers who owned them for a short time to demo against his designs. He bought them from the original owner.

They have never been modified to my knowledge. They only say MM DeCapo i on the back cause I would assume Tash and crew at Reference 3A were using up parts on hand for a while. If you look at the pictures on their site, you'll see that pair of BE's was labeled as i's also.

For the speakers only I'd take $1475 plus freight and fees.
