Carbon fiber threaded bases for older inline Maraschino

What are these base plates that are threaded used for? I bought these used and am wondering if I am missing part of the bases. It has like a 1/4" threaded hole in a carbon fiber base. Can someone help me please.

I would but they are at a repair shop about an hour away. I just figured someone who owned these versions would know. Maybe they aren't stock. When I get them back I will definitely take a photo. They remind me of some maybe BDI carbon fiber things I have seen.
