As my first Bryston amplifier back in the 80s, a 3B, looked like this, I will always have a soft spot for that design. I always loved the professional look of Bryston amps and since the c-series is not rack mountable, I always went for the pro optics when looking for used gear.
The now legacy 3-piece faceplate has the advantage that one can replace parts of the faceplate. I had the case that the L-shaped top and bottom parts looked bad (scratched) and for aesthetic reasons I had to replace them, but the 3rd faceplate component was fine.
So every design decision has its pros and cons, I guess.
Since my amps are all from the original SST generation, luckily a retrofit is most probably impossible and since my favorite Bryston amp, the 6B, has been abandoned, there wouldn‘t even be a faceplate in the new cosmetics.

Cheers!
