BDP-3 Playback of DSD 256

I am planning on purchasing BDP-3 and a heck lot of DSD Jazz digital files. I need to know if BDP-3 is capable of playing DSD256. The manual says DSD128. Stereophile review notes indicate DSD 128. James Tanner once indicate DSD256. Which is correct DSD128 or DSD256?

The BDP-3 will playback DSD through USB at DSD256 and through HDMI (SACD) at DSD64.

USB from an external source, only not thru the built in streamer. That converts it to PCM
