Hey there Yog. Interesting that you mentioned the Perreaux. I am still using their EP3 preamp with both MM and MC phono (switchable) inputs etc. My main amp and it's replacement (Emotiva) are strictly power amps with nothing other than an on/off switch. I simply used the volume control of the Perreaux to adjust the signal level being amplified. However, I'm a digital man through and through and thus have no need for the phono section. I'll list the Perrreaux for sale soon. It's a quality piece of equipment and I just want it to go to a good home!
Very good! I've never actually heard a Perreaux amp myself, but I do seem to hear good things about them. Very well constructed I'm told.
Like you I'm primarily (completely?) interested only in digital. I do maintain a turntable, but only to digitize LPs that I cannot find in any other medium.
I did by a Nord Acoustics N500 amplifier at the beginning of the year and I have been very impressed with its construction and sound!
