This is prolly not a new topic, but I have not found it anywhere, nor any info on the Bryston web site, or in the Manual.

Can anyone direct me to how music files can be loaded to the internal SSD in the Bryston BDP-3?

I have tried removing the SSD and connecting it to my Linux Mint Laptop.  That allows me to see the files loaded on the SSD, and allows me to copy music files from my Passport SSD to the Bryston SSD.  But, when I reinstall the SSD in the BDP-3 it does not see those files I added to it.

What do I need to do to load files to the Bryston SSD?

Please direct me to the "manual" or information on how to load music files to the internal SSD.  Thanks for your help...

I set up a 2TB SSD on my BDP3 last yr....iirc it's fairly straight forward....before install, I set up a music folder on the SSD from my PC, after formatting the drive ...installed the SSD into to the BDP3..... Found the BDP3 on my home network from my pc (I have a wired connection into a linksys modem from the BDP3)...............from my pc..found the BDP3 on my home network...when you click on the BDP3 you will be prompted to log into manic moose, once logged in.. see the music folder on the BDP3 ...once you're in this position, you can drag and drop files from your pc into the folder on the BDP3.....there are no details in the MM manual iirc....you can find some info on this forum and use trial and error....fwiw, I'm a layman and was able to install and set up with few problems...works on either MAC or PC

Thanks Peter...

I did try what you describe, but will try again.  I was using my ATT Uverse router and an ethernet connection, but maybe I'll try a dedicated Netgear router with the only link being my Windows 10 Laptop - maybe that will help.

Don't forget to click the UPDATE button in your Manic Moose interface after the files have been transfered on the SSD.

Thanks for the reminder / tip... I don't think I did that.

I did update the software, before I transferred the files... but... I did not "update" the files on the SSD via the MM software.  I guess that re-indexes them so the MM software sees them.

one more thing I should mention in case you're unaware.....I run vpn software on all of my devices....installed at the device level (not the router level) and you must disconnect from your vpn to see various Bryston devices on your network....initially....once the website loads (mybryston or your BDP3 appears on the network) and you login, you can reconnect your vpn and will be able to access the websites/devices with full functionality....you won't be able to see your BDP3 on your network if your vpn is connected

@PeterG

You mention that you run VPN on ALL your devices. How do you run VPN on your BDP-3?

to clarify re vpn software…I use a vpn on my phones, tablets, laptop etc….not the BPD3… installing a vpn on your router would cause all data entering/leaving your network to pass through the vpn….which would include the BPD3…my router will not accept vpn software so I install it on my phone, tablet etc
