Leaking spindle bearing
« on: 25 May 2021, 06:55 am »
Just bought a WTC and got it going again.  Loving the sound with a Hana EL cartridge.
However, the 5w30 engine oil is weeping out of the spindle bearing housing.  Is this likely to be the bottom pivot point and is it possible to re-install with some teflon tape to fix the leak?
Appreciate any advice. Thanks.

I am restoring my unit and removed the spindle housing (easy, just pushes out).  I used teflon tape on all the grub screw threads to cure the oil leaks.  Can only think the plastic bob must shrink a tiny bit with age.
I set up a rig to put all the grub screws back in the spindle housing to give a level platter in all directions.  Better than when I took it apart.
