Magnepan LRS Upgrade
« on: 4 Feb 2022, 09:28 pm »
I am new and it wont let me do a search keeps giving me an error .  I just got the Magnepan LRS and Dannys upgrade kit . I have experience soldering and building tube amps (just enough to be dangerous ). I wonder if there are any guides to doing this upgrade … Mostly I want to make sure I’m using the correct wires for the mid range and tweeter …pics of where others have positioned their crossovers parts would be a huge help as well .
I am going to bypass the fuse and whatnot so its a pure direct connection .
I am thinking of  trying to position the magnepan connector plate in the center and putting the large inductor on one side and the cap and small inductor on the other and mounting it to the speakers with standoffs large enough where it fits on the backside.  I am going to add a walnut trim around to cover the standoff gaps .  Down the road I am planning on making new rails out of walnut and getting news socks in white (which I’m sure i will regret .

Thanks for your help!

Here's one to get you started:

When you get a couple more posts in, you can start searching. (I think it might be after three posts, but not 100% sure.)
