Desktop Planars?
« on: 13 Feb 2022, 04:10 am »
Does any organization produce desktop planar speakers, other than Magnepan?

I know that for a while back in the early 2000s, a company named 'Monsoon,' had some that sounded pretty good...but they disappeared.

Any other desktop planars out there?

Thanks for reading -

I don't know why 100% of my photos on this website show up rotated 90 degrees*

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

These are phone photos? You have to adjust it at the upload page.

If you are prepared to do a little DIY ER Audio have something right up your alley.
The price is low, the quality is high and Rob is great to deal with.
I am one of his very satisfied customers.

Once upon a time, Monsoon Audio made the Planar 9. It was two panels and a desktop sub.

These were the best sounding desktop system that I'd found, at the time. Unfortunately, they have long since gone out of business. I still have, and use, my set. Love them.

You might have some luck on eBay, facebook or Craiglist. Should be able to pick up a set for under a hundred clams.

...oh, don't bother with the Monsoon MM700. They sounded like crap.
