How Much No-Rez is Too Much No-Rez?
« on: 11 Mar 2022, 03:54 am »
I just lined my B&W 606 S2 Signatures with No-Rez. Doesn’t leave much room in the box…is there such a thing as too much No-Rez?

Also, B&W glues their poly fill into the cabinets, leaving residue when you pull it out. I did the best I could with the No-Rez, but some of it isn’t adhering to the walls very well. I assume this is a bad thing.

Correct, you will need to scrape the glue off with something like this:

As far as intenrals go, there's no such thing as "too much" unless you're stacking extra layers onto one another, or trying to apply it to the outside. Not good ideas.

Install the norez onto the inside walls then place the original polyfill over the crossover and along the back wall.

I was afraid of that. Okay, thank you!

I would use the no-rez, but remove the open cell foam, replace it with some Aerogel, glue that to it and it will be far more affective, Oh but wait, it will add to the cost!!

Cheers,

Don

What is the cost of a sheet of aerogel??
What about open-cell memory foam...

It's pricey for sure, but the OP's issue was space constraints, Aerogel is far thinner and more effective, and i don't think that's debatable if your willing to get the best performance, which I believe should be the pursuit, nothing against the no-rez, i use it as well but it can be better.

Cheers,

Don

What is the Aerogel product you mention? I see a hairspray when I search and pipe insulation.

One of the lightest/least dense products ever made
