Hello from the Finger Lakes
« on: 15 Aug 2021, 03:53 am »
Greetings to all. I am a 79 year old man that has absolutely no knowledge of Audio equipment. After surviving eight hours of surgery from two different tumors somehow I have convinced myself that I could build one of these systems. I have chosen Gr Research not because I have any knowledge that they are better than anybody else but rather because they have more information available to someone like me. That fact alone tells me these people care about what they are doing. I apologize in advance for the stupid questions I will undoubtedly be asking.

We have no problems with stupid questions around here.  We always have plenty of stupid answers.
Actually, welcome, and we will do our best to help guide you along the way.

No, can't say that I am. For a while, I thought I was surely related to Joe Btfsplk. I suspect you younger folks will have to Google that name to understand it. The name comes from the fact that I somehow now frickken old and also I enjoy restoring antiques.

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

Anteaker , I’m so sorry you had to go through such difficult surgery before you decided to convince yourself to build some equipment. Best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery. I’m sure you will be very happy with you choice to use GR research. Great first choice , I doubt you could find anyone better than Danny and GR to get you started. Amazing talent and superb sound and value for the money . I pray you won’t need another operation to get you to decide to build an amp to go along with those  GR speakers !  I hope you have a great time building !
