Bob, what SP Tech speakers do you have? I am thinking about Townshend seismic stands for mine. Look forward to more impressions.

BTW I do not have the ability to weigh mine easily. If you have Revelations, happen to know their weight??

Hey Roscoe,

I have the Revelation MK-V's.  They are about 200 lbs. each side.  The top is heavier than the bottom.  I just finished putting them on the Townshend Seismic Podiums and getting them all adjusted correctly.  Only heard 3 cuts off one album.  The vocals were the most beautiful I've ever heard from a speaker.  I have Sistrums from Star Sound also.  The Revs were on the Sistrums for the past 4 weeks.  The sound is very good on the Sistrums, BUT...the Townshend's are a good notch above in SQ. I love the way the speakers look on the podiums--it's like they were built custom just for the Revs.  It allowed my speakers to be almost 4" lower to the ground compared to the Sistrums.  The combination of the Revs with the Townshend podiums is so good--and the Sistrums are already good, it's just fantastic.  The bass quality out of this combo is as good in all ways as I've ever experienced.  I've had some very good speakers over the past 15 years.  The Revs are the first speaker I would say is so close to perfection in all parameters, I WILL NOT be looking for any more as long as they keep working.  Bob Smith really outdid himself on these speakers.  BUT...I've done a couple things to make this pair of speaker one of a kind and considerably better sounding than the original by removing the parts between the 2 cabinets and replacing the 3/4" spacer with a between the 2 cabinets with a 1" spacer that is otherwise the exact same measurements as the original.  Then I ordered four 1" Audio Points from Star Sound, and 4 inverted couplers.  I bought brass inserts to screw into the top of the bottom cabinet that would fit the points and their 1/4 x 20 threads.  The points were then screwed into the inserts and I used a 1" Forstner bit to recess the couplers 1/8" into the bottom of the top cabinet so the coupler would not slide out and it would be the exact height of the wood spacer that surrounds the rectangular hole that vents one cabinet into the other.  The points are located about 1.25" from the corners.  When the couplers are in the recess, you can fit each of them over the points which will hold them in place and the rectangular hole will be totally sealed by the weight of the top cabinet when all is in place.  I also glued a layer of heavy felt to the top of the wood spacer so it would helped seal the cabinets and also stop the cabinets from making any noise from wood on wood.  With this done, the sound takes on a much more live quality, and appears to be a perfect combo with the Townshend podiums.  It is very close to the Sistrums in the initial strike dynamics and otherwise, surpasses the sound in all other ways in comparison.
